OMG – This Podcast Is 10 Years Old!
Posted on April 1st, 2016 No commentsIt was 10 years ago today…April 1st, 2006…when the first podcast was released.
I was surprised that the first podcast was released on April 1st…on April Fool’s Day…and then I remembered why it was released exactly on April 1st…
Here’s the story…
I disagreed with the concept of “April Fool’s Day”…of trying to fool people on April 1st…I declared April 1st…”April Inspiration Day”…or something similar to that name…and the goal was to inspire people to be and do awesome things…this was before YouTube or Facebook were well known…before users making content was even considered really normal or possible…back then, people believing they could be a successful indie game dev was crazy. My goal was to inspire students and game developers alike to make their own successful indie/innovative games.
I want to thank all the listeners and interviewees that made this show possible.
Since the first podcast show, the games industry has grown dramatically…and it is now on its way to being the defining media of the first half of the 21st century…we are all lucky to be a part of this industry…even if it is just by being a player.
I wish everyone the best of success and hopefully this podcast inspires you to make your own innovative and amazing game and media experiences.
FYI…

Moving forward, I feel like interviews should be only part of the mix. I hope to cover game designs, tech info, and even other concepts via the shows.
