Interviewer: I’m here at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco at the Unity booth and with me today is a special guest. How about you introduce yourself?

Wolfgang: Hi, I’m Wolfgang, sales engineer and software engineer with dimeRocker.com.

Interviewer: OK. What is Dime Rocker about?

Wolfgang: DimeRocker.com is providing web services for Unity developers for a self-publishing platform. So, basically the idea is the second you want to go to the web and publish and you need services like hosting, leaderboard, marketplace, you know, virtual currencies. We’re service providers. We’re sort of all in one stop to come upload your game, get it hosted, and we provide the service very, very cheaply. Basically, we’re trying to be way cheaper than any independent developer could be on their own.

Interviewer: So, are you integrated on the Unity platform?

Wolfgang: We have a small asset by the package that plugs into Unity, so it’s a native call to our system. It integrates very nicely with the developers. The independent game shops that we’ve worked with so far really like it. It integrates easily.

Interviewer: Can you talk about some of the companies that have used your product and how they use it?

Wolfgang: One of the main companies that we’ve used for the game shop on a web page is called Complex Games, and they’ve done a couple of projects for other people now using us. Basically, the people came to us and said, “We want to do this or do that, and we sent them to Complex Games.” Then we’ve got a few other people, strictly independent people. Their names aren’t on the top of my head, but we’re just coming out of a private Beta going into an open Beta. So, we’re going to be wrapping up a lot more developers very soon.

Interviewer: Can you talk about the pricing model then behind this?

Wolfgang: The basic pricing model that we’re looking at–we’re, of course, looking for feedback from developers. It’s a 30/70 split. We’re taking 30 percent of the profits. Now, keep in mind that that takes into consideration all the relationships that we’ve developed plus hosting plus everything for your cost. So, your initial cost is nothing, and you’re not paying in advance for scalability that you’re not using and all those sort of things. It basically keeps us very competitive, we feel, with anything that’s out there.

Interviewer: So, you do provide the back end scaling and all the other things that are necessary.

Wolfgang: We provide the complete architecture for leaderboards and everything that’s there for you, and you don’t have to worry about scaling and 24/7 support, web hosting, CDN networks or anything like that. We’re taking care of all those aspects.

Interviewer: Where can folks try out your product and where can they find out more information?

Wolfgang: Go to the dimeRocker.com website.

Interviewer: How do you spell that?

    Wolfgang: Dime D-I-M-E R-O-C-K-E-R.com

    Interviewer: Thank you very much.
